Manhattan Comprehensive Night & Day High School
Manhattan Comprehensive was founded as a public night high school in 1989. MC’s mission is to give young people who have dropped out, aged out or are poorly served by traditional New York City public high schools an opportunity to gain a full, academic Regents diploma. The school added day classes several years later, and in 1995 MC volunteers established CDI.
Working Together to Meet Students’ Needs
Today, CDI and MC work together to provide an encouraging, positive and challenging environment to MC’s 1,000+ students. By integrating academic and social services, MC faculty and CDI staff collaborate to remove barriers to graduation. To meet the needs of our older students, MC offers classes from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm, Sunday-Thursday. MC offers students a thorough curriculum with Advanced Placement classes, College Now and an extensive English language immersion program for English Language Learners. For over 20 years, the school’s teachers and staff have been dedicated to giving thousands of New York City students the opportunity to succeed.
